  I’m an Assistant Principal at Borders College with cross college responsibility for Articulation & Enterprise along with responsibility for the curricular portfolio areas of :Visitor Economy ,Creative Industries, Sport & Outdoor activities and Rural skills .Sport and Outdoor Activities -This area includes The B.A.S.E ( Borders Academy of Sporting Excellence ) provision .These are specialist sport performance programmes for Rugby , Racehorse care and Mountain biking . We deliver in partnership these programmes in partnership for Rugby with the SRU ,Mountain Biking along with our partner organisation the Dirt School and our racehorse care awards in partnership with the Scottish Racing Academy. Creative Industries. This provision includes HNC/D Art & design, HNC/D Visual Communication and a range of vocational qualifications within Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing .The Rural skills provision is based at our Newtown StBoswells campus . Whee we deliver a range of full time, part time, apprenticeships and commercial courses covering agricultural, horticulture, animal care, forestry and rural business management .The Visitor Economy portfolio includes Business, Hospitality and Tourism programmes and Foundation Apprenticeship provision. B.A.S.E performance courses : Football, Rugby, Mountain Biking /Downhill and Sport and Exercise courses up to HND level. (B.A.S.E - Borders Academy of Sporting Excellence ).
