  I have been teaching second grade for Columbia Public Schools for 9 years. Prior to this, I taught kindergarten for CPS for 8 years. I have served on various curriculum and leadership committees during my time with Columbia Public Schools.   During my time with Rockwall Independent School District, the kindergarten program was half day. I was responsible for educating and communicating with 50 families each year. I was part of a team that opened a new school for the district and as the only kindergarten teacher for the school was responsible for developing the manual and curriculum.   During my time at this private school, I taught 2 sections of half day kindergarten for 3 years and then we made the transition to all day kindergarten. I was instrumental in the development of the all day program and changed the curriculum from a basal based program to a hands-on approach. While working for the diocese, I was an active member of the curriculum committee and worked to promote change to meet early childhood education needs.
