I was hired by Lynn in late 2017 as the Chief People Officer for StarTech.com, and reported directly to her till December 2019. At the time, Lynn had been with the company less than a year, and was already well into transforming the way the company was led and managed. Lynn was given a mandate was to build the foundation for the company's long term success while setting it back on a course of rapid growth. This required many different skills to brought to bear at the same time, a new leadership approach, and the courage to drive change and innovation. It also required a deft touch in being able to navigate the company's unique culture and tapping into its best qualities. Lynn worked tirelessly to define and communicate short and long term business objectives, and to articulate a vision for how the company would achieve these objectives. She relied on her exceptional communications skills and authentic, trust-building leadership style to re-build the confidence and capability of the leadership team, put in place more effective management systems, and encouraged leaders to take calculated risks. Once you are on the same page in terms of overall direction and priorities, Lynn let's you manage your business or function, and let's you make the appropriate decisions to execute your plan. I've worked with many executives and senior leaders in my career, but few that put so much effort and importance into cultivating a people first culture. Lynn did this at StarTech.com because she knew that doing so would power the growth of the company. She practiced straight talk with employees, communicated frequently, and in many forms, was personally involved in many aspects of employee development initiatives, and held her leaders accountable for the engagement and experience of their people. For the first two of Lynn's three years at StarTech.com, the company achieved high double digit revenue growth, while overseeing huge, time and resource intensive projects such as the successful ERP implementation. I would strongly recommend Lynn for any enterprise that is looking for a visionary leader to inspire its people to achieve great things. Lynn possesses a rare blend of business and people skills that in the coming months and years will be invaluable.
