I first worked with Lynette when we were colleagues at the Chicago Tribune. I found Lynette to be a talented and persistent reporter, as well as an insightful, articulate writer. More recently, in my role as managing director of public affairs at Elmhurst College, I sought out her expertise when she was arts editor at WBEZ. She gave me some excellent, creative suggestions, one of which led to a strong cultural partnership between Elmhurst College and WBEZ's Chicago Amplified program. Her skills as a writer, editor and communicator would serve her well in any position, whether in journalism or another profession.

Lynette is creative, detail oriented, and fun to work with. During the time we worked together she met deadlines and could be counted upon to be thorough in her reporting work. Lynette juggled multiple assignments while remaining organized, she is skilled both at audio story-telling and writing print-style for on-line news reports. She's good at headline writing and is eager to adapt to new workflow practices when introduced. Lynette would be an asset to any newsroom. She also took on mentorship and training of rookie reporters with a passion and patience that helped guide them toward becoming successful reporters themselves.
