National Association for Women in Construction - Bay of Plenty Chapter officially formed in March 2020. NAWIC is an international not for profit organisation that was formed in Texas in 1953 by 16 women. NAWIC was established in NZ in 1986 when a Wellington chapter was set up. Later chapters were established in Auckland, Canterbury, Bay Of Plenty, Queentown Lakes.NAWIC encourages women to pursue, establish and sustain successful careers in the construction industry. Our vision is to be the leading voice for women in the New Zealand industry. I currently work for BCITO, helping people into qualifications within the Building and Construction Sector. It is very rewarding making a difference in individuals' lives by introducing them into a career they can be really proud of. A career and trade that will take them places.
