At AOSSM, I am responsible for overseeing the scientific activities and implementing the research components of the society's strategic plan. That includes supporting a diverse agenda of grants programs and funded initiatives. I also work with the AOSSM Research Committee to identify emerging opportunities, financial resources and mentor groups to further AOSSM-led research endeavors. Finally, I will also be focused on expanding and building new partnerships to create and disseminate clinical guidelines relevant to sports or other injuries and facilitate access to the outcomes of this evidence-based research to guide patient care. ACSM is the largest sports medicine and exercise science organization in the world. With more than 50,000 members and certified professionals worldwide, ACSM is dedicated to advancing and integrating scientific research to provide educational and practical applications of exercise science and sports medicine. As Vice President, I provide expertise and oversight to ensure that evidence based practice protocols and processes are followed when developing and disseminating corporate pronouncements. In this role, I work with expert panels in all phases of developing highly influential evidence-based reports, known as ACSM Position Stands, which are systematic evidence-based and evidence-informed reviews that lead to major findings. In addition, I am leading the development of MOSAIC, an online resource center and evidence library for sports medicine and the exercise sciences.
