Jan 2006 - Mar 2006
I interned at Julien MacDonald’s London studio for the three month period leading up to his catwalk at London Fashion Week 2006 and was thrilled to be invited to continue my placement after his LFW show. Thriving in a high-pressure and deadline-driven environment and under Julian’s guidance, I worked on specially commissioned dresses for Shirley Bassey, Elizabeth Jagger and Paris Hilton’s dress that opened his LFW show. I also had the sole responsibility of the selection of garments and accessories to be sent to various celebrities to be worn at red-carpet events, such as for Charlize Theron at the Oscars. ● Creating custom accessories for LFW catwalk ● Basic pattern-cutting/manufacture ● Intricate fabric-embellishment; manipulating feathers, working with Swarovski crystals, experimental fabric-dye techniques, ● Dressing high-profile models backstage at LFW such as Paris Hilton, Erin O’Connor Show less
