  After completing my design apprenticeship I progressed into a Design Technician role. Whilst in this role I was able to further my knowledge within the construction industry and improve on my technical skills. I started to develop my technical skills in Synchro and Navisworks which was used for for 4D planning, modelfederation and clash detection.

  I joined Wates in September 2011 as a Design Apprentice for just over 2 years. Year 1 - Site based on a selection of live projects in order to gain early experience and exposure into the construction industry.Year 2 - office based with the in-house structural engineering team in order to understand structural engineering and CAD / 3D draughting. Whilst in this role I produced 2D Structural drawings (using AutoCAD), 3D models (using Revit) and 4D tender (using 3DS Max).
