Simply put, my mission is to help clients create and sustain their ideal lifestyle. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, I apply the wisdom and techniques of Applied Behavior Analysis to my client’s challenges. I have over ten years of experience working with special needs children and their families in the home. Whether working with special needs children or more traditional families the goals are often the same - independent children, quality family time, and a calm, more peaceful home. Whether it is implementing best systems for managing paper flow, household task delegation, item placement or “toss or treasure” principles, much of my organizing philosophy is influenced by personal experience using established organizing and lifestyle techniques, and enhanced by my work as a BCBA. Prior to obtaining my certification in ABA, I also served as an ABA instructor, and home-based and school SEIT in private schools for children with special needs. Utilize methodologies from behavior analysis to teach daily living skills, communication and socialization skills, as well as functional academics and travel skills using token reinforcement and visual supports. At Behavior + Beyond, Dr. Marcie has established high standards for providing families and schools with the tools to create lasting behavior change for their kiddos. Through direct service with children, and training of parents and teachers, I am able to ignite positive behavioral changes that are maintained by the client and adults in their lives. By first getting to know each child, considering their family and school dynamics, I work families and teachers through specific behavior challenges they face. We work as a team to implement strategies that are realistic and, done consistently, effective for positive behavior change. From completing homework, toileting, and managing aggressive behaviors, to following a direction the first time you say it (how exciting!), there are few behaviors I have not seen. My experience in the school, home, and recreational settings with individuals from 2-21 years old has given me many points of reference.
