  Running the Foundation 'Carefree with to school'. The Foundation is campaigning to make sure all children with a chronic disease get the support and care they deserve at school. In order to have the same opportunities at school as other children.We know good care is possible because we’re seeing it happen. And we want to make sure it happens right across the Netherlands. We know many schools and families need a helping hand, that’s why we are working together with children, parents and carers, schools, healthcare professionals and the Government to achieve support and care for all children with A chronic disease. We do this by creating possibilities, raising awareness, providing information and advice, and developing toolkits.

  The foundation Carefree to School started off in December 2015, focussing on pupils with diabetes. In November 2019 we decided to broaden our horizon to all students with a chronic disease.

  I make a difference in supporting families, parents and children integrating juvenile diabetes into their lives. My interventions build on my professional competencies as a diabetes advocate, trainer, writer, speaker and mediator.
