It was a great pleasure for me to use my professional knowledge after my pre-registration course and fully qualified pharmacist to care for customers in any possible way. As the pharmacy was very close to the hospital of Vienna, AKH Wien, we got a lot of patients with international background not being able to communicate in German language. In those cases I gladly provided my English language skills to clarify issues on their medication or elsewhere. Again I was integrated in an extremely friendly team and was happy to help wherever I could, whether in taking over the goods, handling telephone queries, serving the customers or being involved in preparing the patients' medicines. I believe that supporting the team is one of the most important factors for a good and stable climate at work which in turn can be appreciated by the customers. Show less

As a pre-registered pharmacist I was introduced to all areas that a pharmacist has to deal with: Through my friendly and perceptive nature I was very often appreciated from the counseled customers by offering them a good treatment against their medical issues. Since there were a lot of dermatologists, a doctor of aesthetic medicine, an ENT-physician and other GPs nearby, there were a lot of magisterial prescriptions to be done. Although it was a challenge to keep an efficient customer care upright whilst managing the magisterial work I was able to manage it perfectly well even though quite often complicated magisterial formulas were among them such as capsules for a fragile infant. The pharmacy offered a special service by delivering the blistered medication of elderly patients’ in an old peoples' home. Therefore we had to blister each patient's medicines and subsequently I had the responsibility for some of the patients’ medication. This meant that once a week I was involved in blistering as well as making sure that especially when the doctor goes on holiday the patient will be supplied with enough medicine in the following time. Moreover I was responsible for the medication of the patients within the substitution therapy program. This required a high measure of accuracy. Within this year I was very much appreciated by my colleagues because I gave a hand whenever and wherever necessary. I was able to fit into the team very quickly and am absolutely gracious for my previous colleague’s support. Hence I am glad to still meet them as friends. Show less
