I work as part of a team of researchers developing the first concept inventory for assessing student understanding of interdisciplinary environmental concepts. We are using a mixed methods approach involving a content analysis of environmental course materials, semi-structured student interviews, concept inventory development and testing, and machine learning. Once developed and validated, this Next Generation Concept Inventory will provide a means to evaluate the efficacy of different teaching practices. Show less
