Kala Elkinton
Lauren interned in the marketing department in the summer of 2016, and I was lucky to have her on board. A true representation of jumping right in, Lauren quickly learned the ins and outs of supporting the marketing team during a time of need - we had just lost a vital member of the marketing team, and were in the midst of launching a citywide grassroots campaign with nearly 1,000 teachers in both Kansas City and Dallas. Lauren took on each and every task that came her way in a very thorough manner, with a positive and curious attitude. (We tried to hire her on at the end of the summer, and were devastated she was taking another opportunity in Lawrence!)
