She assisted in the design of roadway projects in Broward and Palm Beach counties, namely in the concept development of a project including 17 interchanges along I-95. Ms. Welch also researched and analyzed the Sustainability Action Plan for Fort Lauderdale for use in the development of two streetscape projects along State Road A1A and Las Olas Boulevard. During her internship, Ms. Welch had the opportunity to work on a several projects in the civil engineering field.
