Based in Kitui/Nairobi in Kenya, I am working on a number of projects in Kenya. These include both urban and rural water management, buffering stormwater in booming towns and revitalizing degraded lands, retaining alternative sources of water and improve agricultural production. Roads for Water is is an initiative that aims to introduce roads as resilience corridors by innovative designs and guidelines on harvesting water with roads. Roads can be systematically used as instruments for water harvesting and this can generate substantial positive impacts: more secure water supply, better soil moisture, reduced erosion and respite from harmful damage. My key activities include:- Manage and coordinate the activities with our County technical teams and Road authorities. Maintain both internal and external communication. - Applied research and fieldwork to support implementation of road water harvesting and documenting this process. Monitoring and evaluation of hydro-logical and socio-economic impact of pilot projects.- Provide technical support, mainly on water resources and environmental management- Promotion and learning/training activities to disseminate lessons learnt and contribute to up-scaling- Organization and facilitation of workshops and training.
