Tutor
-
Mar 2014 - Mar 2017
In 2014 I accepted the position of tutoring SIT120 (Introduction to application design) at Deakin University. This position involved myself educating students in weekly classes in regards to the core fundamentals of application design. In 2015 I expanded my tutoring to include SIT305 Advanced App Design and SIT708 Mobile Systems Development. This position allowed me to experience a new environment in every lesson and educates myself in the best way possible of presenting new ideas and content at a group or person to person level. One day whilst not attending a lecture at uni, I was sitting down with a friend I had just made. We noticed how popular the vending business was at the university and later that same day we purchased our first vending machine. We called up the university, offered them a split commission and wormed our way in pretending we were a major player in the game. By the end of our first year we had grown to 3 vending machines across campus (we also purchased a few arcade machines as well just for the fun of it, because hey, why not?). By the end of the second year we had learnt that people really like trying to unsuccessfully break into vending machines, we had also grown to around 5 machine and sold off the arcade devision of the business. Old Skool Vending was well known by everyone for its extreme advertising campaigns as well as providing the cheapest and best valued vends on campus. When it came time to graduate university, we sold the business for a profit and moved onto the next venture. Show less
