We contracted Luke to deliver our two day public showcase event for one of our innovation projects. Starting with a very blank sheet and at short notice, Luke produced a plan for the weekend that met our needs precisely. He then set about realising the event, dealing with all relevant matters including arranging facilities and site management, ensuring that the Combined Authority met it’s legal duties and ultimately delivering a very successful 5G Smart Tourism showcase event.

Luke is an experienced, sensitive and astute producer and project manager who I have worked with on numerous occasions on complex, ambitious projects in public space and online. He approaches his role with a cool head, a sense of humour, and a can-do attitude and I'd work with him again in a heartbeat.

    • Pervasive Media Studio Producer
      • Apr 2019 - Dec 2022

As the Pervasive Media Producer, I worked with partners across the creative industries, technology and academic sectors. I was comfortable in both the commercial and cultural worlds and had the ability to understand and translate across different value systems. I worked responsively to the needs of the 150 strong Resident community. It was work that required patience and generosity. I worked to ensure that knowledge and experiences of what we delivered, were captured and shared across the organisation and with the wider community. My activities played a vital role in maintaining and growing an unusual space and, working with the Studio Team, I held an overview of Residents’ work and brokered links with internal staff and external partners. As the Studio continued to grow and develop, I facilitated a values-led operating model with clarity of intent and distributed decision making. I was responsible for developing the creative capacity of the Studio team, striving for the best balance between sustainability, experimentation and innovation. Supported by the Executive Producer, I managed the budget for the Studio; working with team colleagues to track spend, identify possible savings and respond to income generation opportunities. The Pervasive Media Studio hosts a brilliant community of over 150 artists, creative companies, technologists and academics exploring experience design and creative technology. Our global alumni network is 450 strong. The studio is a collaboration between Watershed, University of Bristol and UWE Bristol. They provide a space for people to take risks with early stage ideas, in a thriving, collaborative and generous community. They firmly believe in the power of cross sector collaboration and the studio acts as a live translator of the intersections of commercial and cultural practices.

MAYFEST RADIO Mayfest Radio returned for it’s 3rd year as part of Mayfest 2016. Bolder, bigger, and broadcasting 24/7 from the beating heart of the festival. Across the 11 days of Mayfest, we brang you music, soundbites and tasters of all of the shows at Mayfest and chats with the artists who stepped onto Bristol’s stages during the festival. Mayfest Radio was a chance to delve deeper into the festival programme through conversation and debate, interviews and features, plus some carefully selected audio work and a smattering of lovely music.

In autumn 2015, a remarkable structure will rose up from within the bombed out remains of Temple Church in central Bristol. For 24 days, this 14th century site was transformed into an intimate gathering place in which to hear the city like never before. Chicago-based artist Theaster Gates was invited by Bristol arts producer, Situations, to create his first public project in the UK as part of Bristol 2015 European Green Capital. The artist has sought out discarded and dormant materials from former places of labour and religious devotion across Bristol to build an intimate and distinctive temporary structure at Temple Church. From midday Thursday 29th October 2015, Sanctum will hosted a continuous programme of performance over 576 hours until midday Saturday 21st November, sustained by Bristol’s performers, musicians and bands.
