  This was a front-line lending role where I helped structure and lead debt financing solutions for private equity transactions (management buyouts, mergers, and recapitalisations) across Canada, and helped these companies achieve ambitious growth targets. This provided me with an excellent grounding in corporate finance with a particularly strong focus on financial analysis, financial modelling, credit work (writing investment proposals & presentations) and legal documentation. I also got to work closely with private equity professionals and C-level execs from a wide variety of businesses and industries. I developed strong project management skills as each transaction had many different moving parts, with input from multiple different teams, and a core function of my role was to coordinate and manage these work streams.
