I collaborated with a small team of data specialists to complete projects. I fully designed, developed and maintained the Data Distribution System for Voter Contact. The Data Distribution System for Voter Contact is a GUI program (written in Python) designed to assist the data team by automating several tasks including pulling data from a CRM database, generating customized spreadsheets, and distributing the data to those who request it. The program was able to save roughly three hours of manual work each day, and has been used to fulfill over 5000 requests through email. The program is also multithreaded to allow for efficient completion of tasks, and a dynamic, responsive GUI.I also worked with another intern to develop a program using Python which allows users to access the Twitter API and collect information with little to no programming experience. This program was used to gather data from over 32,000 Twitter users and over 1.5 Million individual tweets of interest.

    • Research Assistant
      • May 2015 - Sep 2015

I worked in a cancer research lab with a focus on cutting edge immunotherapy under Dr. Qiao Li. I was placed in charge of ensuring the lab and all equipment was meeting the safety standards set by OSEH, and would direct graduate researchers to make necessary changes. As the only native English speaker in the lab, I was able to better communicate with third party organizations to ensure that necessary lab supplies were ordered and arrived on time. I was also able to use my experience speaking in Mandarin (Chinese) to facilitate communication between Chinese graduate students and the hospital's administrative staff.
