Oct 2021 - Present
In October 2021, I was promoted to a supervisor role at TupTup Palace. My role as a supervisor is to lead a team of people and to make sure that they are working hard and doing their job correctly. As a supervisor, I am the middle ground between the managers and the bar staff. This means being given jobs from the managers and then instructing my team on what needs doing and how to do it properly. I am responsible for the training of new staff and developing their job related skill set to ensure that they learn the job quickly and become valuable members of the team. As a team leader it is important that I am able to take responsibility for myself, and a group of people, and be an inspiring leader to them. I need to be a role model to my team, so I carry myself professionally to set a good example to my team. I need to have good teamwork and communication skills to make sure that my team works together effectively and is able to do the best job possible. If a customer has a problem or complaint, I am responsible for resolving these issues. It is important that I have good problem solving abilities and can come up with logical solutions in order to ensure the customer has the best experience possible, while still maintaining the high standards of the business. As this is a busy venue, I have to be able to work effectively under high amounts of pressure for sustained periods of time and keep a strong head throughout the day. Although it is hard work, I find this role extremely enjoyable and it has helped me develop a skill set that can be applied to different job roles and situations throughout my life.

My role at Energie fitness included lots of different jobs and responsibilities. Firstly I was responsible for maintaining the high standards of the gym. This involved constantly cleaning and tidying the gym and making sure all the equipment was working properly and safe to use. My other roles at Energie Fitness included working the front desk and driving membership sales. I was responsible for responding to all of the emails and calls that we received, alongside dealing with customers memberships, payment issues, and complaints. This required high levels of customer service and patience as customers can be very harsh at times and their problems were often very complicated. When selling memberships, it was important that I was friendly and had good communication skills. I had to give tours to potential customers and convince them to purchase our memberships, and up sell to them where possible. I was also responsible for marketing the gym and creating effective social media and email campaigns to drive more traffic to our websites to get more sales. I was responsible for keeping our social channels up to date and making them attractive for potential customers.
