During my time a part of the sailing team at URI I really never met anyone else like Luke Ingalls when it came to his knowledge about the competitive sport of sailing. I had the pleasure of sailing aside of Luke as a teammate as well as a friend for about three years now and he is constantly giving tips about boat tactics, reading wind as well as controlling body movements inside of the 420s and FJs especially for the new comers that join the team considering that Luke was the captain of the URI Sailing team this year. Luke’s ability to sail fast and his knowledge about the sport makes him not only a phenomenal sailor but also a great teacher for the youth that are trying to get involved inside of the maritime sport. Luke is a very well rounded, kind, outgoing and compassionate person that just wants to make sailors around him get better at the sport and obtain more knowledge about the boats and the tactics that go into that sport that will make them succeed more than other sailors. Luke is a extremely valid contact, great teammate and an amazing person for this role.

Luke Ingalls and I have studied together four four years now and he is one of the most dedicated people I know. Luke and I have worked on projects together, and he has showed great leadership quality on each of them. Whether its being the captain of the URI sailing team and organizing team events, or working as an instructor, he has showed time and time again that he thrives in leadership positions and has the communication skills to succeed in whatever the task may be. I have found him to be a great person to collaborate with in and out of the classroom, and he's an even better person to be around.

I started this job two years ago, working during summers, and the kids who could barely race then, now fight for podium finishes at all of their regattas.
