React.js | Express | Passport | MongoDB/Mongoose This idea has been in the works for several years, most of that time being day dreaming, and talking with my co-creator about what we want the application to do. As of this year, it is finally becoming a reality. As a chess enthusiast, I wanted to create an online application to play against other people of similar skill levels, with the possibility to even make wagers to show your confidence in your skill. You join a lobby, get matched with another person, and agree on a wager, and the battle begins. A timer will start for each person to make a move (the idea will be to give a player one hour), and if a move is not made in that time, that player forfeits. As of right now, online capabilities are not available, but I am working in socket.io to make this possible. For those who simply want to play for the fun of it, a non-wager option will be available

React(Hooks) | ContextAPI | Express | MongoDB/Mongoose | MaterialUIThis app was a group project with my cohort at Hack Reactor, as a mock industry project. We met with a client who told us what they wanted their app to do, and gave us a color scheme, but little direction as far as what they wanted the app to look like. As a co-UI Owner, I made wire frames using Figma to present possible concepts for the client to choose from or give feedback on, and once a decision was made, the UI choices were given to me or Eli, my partner, to have the final say.

React(Hooks) | Styled-Components | Axios | AWS | Express | PostgreSQL | Node.js This app was an exercise in front and back end skills, one project broken up into two phases. I, and my team, built this retail application from scratch using the technologies aboveBack-end Accomplishments: - PostgreSQL was used to make complex queries for joining multiple tables and cleaning the data in an ELT format - AWS was used to deploy the app to the cloud in EC2 containers. - K6 used used to test multiple end users locally, and Loader.io was used to scale out the cloud containersFront-end Accomplishments: - Used conditional rendering to work through dirty data - Styled components made it much easier to apply styling to very specific elements and made it easier to work out what elements were receiving what styles - React Hooks made it easier to pass around state and update state
