  South Africa As farm manager I was responsible for all of the day-to-day operations of the business. This involved an early start to the day at the small dairy; checking and counting the herds of beef cattle and monitoring the small layer operation. My studies were very handy when it came to labour relations and helping with financial planning as these tend to be the two biggest challenges in the industry. The early mornings and late evening were often tedious, but undoubtedly improved my work ethic.
