As the Frontend Principal, I mentor and coach the FE team at Aligent, consisting of around 3 dozen developers, both locally and remote. I prepare performance reviews for management when reviewing salaries for the team, as well as running technical interviews. I'm also responsible for creating the onboarding curriculum, supporting new starters that are going through that curriculum, as well as creating on going learning opportunities for the team, through our fortnightly all-hands team catch up. I cut code in our core PWA, being responsible for architecture decisions that affect all of our project teams and their clients. I've represented Aligent multiple times in a speaking capacity, as well as supporting members of my team who also took on the challenge of presenting external to the organisation. I regularly review code, and review code reviews, so I can give feedback both to a developer who wrote code, but also to a developer who is providing their own feedback, on how best to provide that feedback in a positive, encouraging, team focused way.
