I am happy to provide a strong recommendation for Luke Preston, and feel that he would bring many positives to any organization. I was very happy with the work that Luke performed as part of my Finance team at NCR. His financial analysis was always thorough, accurate and completed on time. He was the type of employee who not only followed instructions well, but also enjoyed taking on the challenge of finding solutions to more difficult, sometimes ambiguous projects. Luke's analytical abilities enabled him to distill large amounts of financial information into useful reports and recommendations, and quickly get to the "heart of the matter". His friendly, outgoing manner enabled him to build relationships with fellow employees in various departments and at different levels of the organization chart. These relationships were often the key to gathering the information and developing the insight required to truly understand many of the financial issues facing our company. Luke was one of the most dedicated people I ever had on my team. His role occasionally required working late into the evening to help complete our month-end process. He worked very well under the pressure of these time constraints, and never complained or showed frustration at having to stay long after most of the team had gone home. Afterwards, Luke often had suggestions as to how we could make adjustments to our process to make future month-ends smoother and more efficient. I managed many people during my career at NCR, but Luke is one of a select few that I've stayed in touch with. I think that says something about who Luke is as a person. He is friendly, honest, smart, humble and fun. Just one of those positive people who always makes your day better!

I am very pleased to make a recommendation for Luke. As part of a large manufacturing organization and as financial lead for my department, he made a significant impact. It was critical that he studied and learned our unique side of the business in order to further support multiple internal teams. He ensured vendor relationships were established and maintained. He consistently and successfully sought and delivered ongoing savings opportunities and financial procedural time efficiencies. His contributions were invaluable for the whole team. His financial acumen, dedication to the role and his positive social skills enhanced the total team dynamics. It was a pleasure to work with Luke.

I have had the pleasure of working for Luke Preston over the past two years at Employment North and can easily say he would be a tremendous asset to your organization. Luke is an exemplary leader, manager and mentor who I feel fortunate to have learned from and who made a tremendous impact on my confidence, giving me the proper tools to help me develop and grow within my position and career. Luke was my Supervisor at Employment North and we worked very collaboratively together on organizational programs and initiatives. He would provide the big picture of the programs we delivered, giving me an all-rounded understanding of program purposes and the overall impact of my deliverables. Luke created positive energy and an inspiring workplace culture and I was continuously amazed at his ability to instill his employees to think outside the box and challenge us to think and stretch our capabilities. Luke led by example, he was a large advocate for providing learning and training opportunities and would seek out professional development opportunities that he thought would be beneficial and help his employees further succeed in their roles. Luke had implemented many community initiatives including the start-up of the Almaguin Highlands Virtual Job Fairs during Covid-19, connecting employers to job seekers and expanding Employment North’s pool of collaborative efforts and partnerships with many community organizations. As well as was a lead in the inception of the Regional Employer Information Sessions providing a platform for funders to present grant and funding information to employers in both the Nipissing and Parry Sound Districts. Due to its success, it has now expanded to serve across Northern Ontario. Luke’s capabilities to cultivate relationships with employers, community partners, clients, local organizations and stakeholders alike not only demonstrates his passion for community growth and developing initiatives but also speaks to his knowledge regarding northern communities. He was an instrumental member of seeking out opportunities for the organization to be involved in and his advocacy for the local communities was demonstrated throughout his work. I am confident that Luke Preston will benefit your organization in a multitude of ways and I strongly recommend him.
