Working as part of the 'Services' team, which integrate external supplier API into our system for live pricing, booking etc. I work using both PHP (Symfony), and JavaScript/Typescript (inc. React/Node JS). Additionally our projects use other technologies, such as Docker, RabbitMQ messaging, Redis Caching, Google Cloud Kubernetes and VMs.The main benefit of my time working here, however, has been solidifying my understanding of theoretical software development concepts. This is thanks to learning from senior members of the team and continued practical daily use:- Agile (Priciples, Frameworks used: Scrum, Kanban)- Architecture (Domain Driven Design, Clean Code)- Code Quality (Design Patterns, SOLID)- Testing Code (Unit/e2e, Regression)- Working to business requirements (Our team works very closely with the Product Owner) Show less

Worked as a Web Developer as part of my University of Kent 'Year In Industry' from June 2017 - September 2018. Afterwards I worked for them part-time alongside my final year at University. My role as a web developer was both front-end and back-end working with PHP, JavaScript (and jQuery), MySQL, HTML and CSS to develop both the front facing public site and developing a set of administrative tools to help run the organisation, by extracting and interpreting website data from the database. In addition my role also extended to: using a variety of API, including for Optical Character Recognition to help automate certificate verification, assisting with SEO and assisting in the migration of the website to HTTPS.
