Activity Based Probe Molecule: In this project I synthesized a small molecular probe that is capable of binding irreversibly in an activity dependent manner to the cofactor of quinone dependent amine oxidases, such as Lysyl Oxidase (LOX). Amyloid Project: In this project we have synthesized a family of small molecules that are capable of binding to amyloid fibrils, however they also possess interesting properties themselves that we are analyzing through NMR studies and computational models. Fatty Acid Analysis: In this project I have developed a methodology to identify fatty acid components of triglycerides through LC/MS for the purpose of implantation into the Organic Chemistry I lab section to highlight Mass spectrometry and varieties of carbonyl chemistry.
