As Pixel Light Effects is a new and growing VFX 3D scanning company I was involved with most aspects of the company, from scanning to hardware design and setup. I spent a lot of time working with scan technology including structured light and photogrammetry. This 3d scanning company is based in Vancouver, BC and whilst I was there build a scanning system into the back of a truck. That meant that we could scan anywhere, which is very useful for film and TV productions. Because the truck utilises Photogrammetry as its scanning method means they can scan fast with no loss of quality. They can scan an actor in minutes where other methods can take hours resulting in saving production time.People who know about 3d scanning will know that Photogrammetry scanning will know that for VFX purposes it also comes with an improvement in quality over some other cyber scanning methods.Contact me if you'd like to know more!
