Lukasz is an extremely talented security professional and manager. It was an absolute pleasure to work with him at Context and he will be sorely missed. For almost two years, from October 2016 to June 2018, I filled a desk next to Lukasz Gogolkiewicz at Alcorn Group. For a time, he was my line manager, but the environment was such that our positions were less ‘hierarchical’ and more ‘collaborative’. Lukasz is a leader. I have found it to be rare that someone simultaneously holds the qualities of both a good manager and an inspirational leader, but Lukasz is both, while managing to maintain his humility. He is patient, even-tempered, and methodical. In my experience, he smiles easily, values quality, gives critique gently, and receives feedback positively. Throughout my time working with him, Lukasz actively supported me in all my endeavours and encouraged my participation in industry events. This included attending my public speaking engagements at AISA and BrisSec, encouraging my writing through AWSN (Australian Women in Security Network), encouraging me to participate in the diversity panel for the CrikeyCon conference, and leveraging my artistic abilities for the inaugural TuskCon conference. I consider Lukasz to be a personal role model, and I believe he will be a valuable asset to any organisation.
