Nandini Shah
It has been a pleasure working with Lukas in the three years he has been at Oberoi International School. He is a highly motivated teacher who goes out of his way to make learning an interesting and valuable experience for his students. He has also often gone beyond teaching students and conducted workshops for teachers in the school. While teaching a unit on political language to Grade 11 this year, Lukas initiated a project where students created campaigns for the school’s student council elections. The ‘real world’ project-based learning experience was indeed a fruitful experience for the students. He is also leading a workshop for other teachers in the school who want to learn about the project-based learning model. He has been very enthusiastic about integrating technology into classroom lessons. Due to his insistence and persistence, most of the teachers in the English department have been using various online applications for giving students feedback, helping students give peer-feedback, teaching them grammar and annotations as well as checking for academic honesty. He has also conducted various workshops for teachers to encourage them to use these tools in their classes. Lukas has taught middle school and IBDP with equal ease and the energy and knowledge he brings to teaching these different grade levels is commendable. He is definitely an asset to our department!
