Bio
Fabian Schmidt
I had the pleasure – and when I say pleasure, I really mean pleasure – of working with Lukas during his time at Bitkom, where he supervised the "Research and Innovation Policy" working group. Lukas was a real fast starter who quickly got to grips with the details of German and European research and innovation policy – not the easiest policy field, as I know from my own experience 😉. In addition to his excellent expertise, Lukas has demonstrated – and this is what sets him apart – an exceptional degree of political intuition and diplomatic skill. It is not least to his credit that we have been able to position our working group as a competent partner in all matters of research and innovation policy and thus decisively shape the debate. And last but not least, I must not forget his fantastic organizational talent. Not only did Lukas always have an eye on the ongoing research policy initiatives – and believe me, there were many – but he also always set the right priorities. I am not afraid to admit that I would have been literally lost without Lukas.

Lukas was the driving force and energy behind numerous successful activities between German and Israeli partners. Lukas dedication and character made the collaboration flowing and easy, as well as professional. It was a pleasure to cooperate with him and with GISEP.
