High Altitude Liquid Engine (HALE) Team
-
Jun 2019 - Jun 2020
I was a member of the Regenerative Nozzle subteam for HALE and worked on the design of a test fixture to analyze the heat transfer characteristics through our nozzle geometry during normal engine operation. Working with this team at the Propulsion Laboratory on OSU's campus I also was involved with the development of a liquid engine test stand and DAQ system in pursuance of an upcoming hot fire test. My other experiences include:- Designed a stainless steel nozzle test fixture and LabVIEW data acquisition interface- Constructed, documented, and prepared a pressure-fed kerolox liquid engine test stand for test fire- Created an analytical heat transfer model to predict thermal conditions in nozzle fixture using the Bartz relationAll work done on this team is towards the goal of launching a single-stage vehicle capable of surpassing the Karman line in accordance with the Base 11 Space Challenge.
