Phoebe Hart
Luka is a reliable, persistent and flexible creative practitioner and emerging filmmaker. I supervised Luka as part of his third year projects in the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film, Screen and New Media at the Queensland University of Technology. As part of a wide-ranging production slate the students undertook, Luka performed a diverse range of roles, including editing a book trailer and a music video clip, and co-writing a short documentary project entitled "Brotherboy". He is directing a short film entitled "Moon Comes Out" next semester. Luka has a promising future in the industry and I have no hesitation in recommending him.

Between September and October of 2022, I underwent an internship as a Trainee Editor for Sound Images. Sound Images is a Corporate Video Production Company based in Maleny. As a Trainee Editor, I worked on a variety of different video projects in numerous capacities. These roles included: - Assistant Editor: Doing second edit passes on pre-existing projects, Compiling sequences, Cutting down interviews - Graphic Animator: Altering animation sequences in After Effects) - Camera Operator: Filming speeches, obtaining b-roll for events This was an incredibly valuable position and I immensely enjoyed the experience of creating content for real-world clients. Curatorial Intern
-
Mar 2022 - Jun 2022
This year, I undertook a placement as a Curatorial Intern at QAGOMA. This involved working directly with the Curator of Pacific Art to create a 10-minute documentary about the development and impact of Uramat Story Songs, an exhibit showcasing the ceremonial masks and fire dances of the Urumat tribe of East New Britain, Papa New Guinea. This was an extremely rewarding position for me as a creative. My placement helped expand my abilities as a filmmaker by giving me real-world practical experiences working on a project. My duties during this internship included: - Preparing and facilitating interviews with documentary subjects - Participating in regular team meetings and check-ins to coordinate a consistent production pipeline - Editing and delivering a 10-minute documentary - Cross-department communication skills Show less
