As a member of the construction sub-team for UBC Concrete Canoe, I am responsible for contributing to the physical development of the hull. Software such as SolidWorks and Excel are used to help simulate and refine said analyses to meet the demands of this dynamic project. Moreover, effective communication between fellow team members is employed to accomplish tasks productively and in a timely manner. During these sessions, I explain methods that can be used and provide tips on how some problems can be approached. I also provide numerous examples and opportunities for students to think outside the box so that they can increase skills in critical thinking and adapting to new situations (which is prevalent in both computational courses as well as in language learning).
