Luiz is one of the best hires any company could dream of. I've known him for 17 years and in many of those we've worked together - my admiration for him only grows with time and I am eager to work again with him in any next opportunity. He is a very independent professional with a strong strategic product management mindset, who thinks in a user centric way first and who works on laser focused priorities with his team. He onboarded very quickly, was asking pertinent questions from the beginning and demonstrated always a very high level of curiosity. His ability to make something out of nothing, totally greenfield and with a low context level, is remarkable, testimony to his research skills and solid academic background: this gives him a high strategic leverage and great speed in starting things up. His strong intellectual depth and learning skills constantly bring a fresh perspective, which enriches and elevates any discussions/outcomes in which he's involved. By doing so he provides a clearly visible positive influence in the rest of the team, who then have an inspiration in how to "up their game". He has leadership clarity not only in terms of leading away through conflict, but also to understand the situations clearly and strive for what he needs to achieve. His level of self awareness of his way of working, thought process, boundaries and needs is remarkable and very hard to find, thus making him a very senior professional that hits the ground running. He is able to command a healthy day-to-day of work through his ability to communicate one’s own needs and to find compromises, while being always humble and appreciative of his colleagues all the time. Additionally, this builds up a very high resiliency: he is a very positive individual, who is capable of reframing his perspective, challenging his beliefs and rethinking his internal narratives. He is very skilled in navigating through uncertainty and in generating opportunities, for himself and for his company. His communication is very appreciated and he was kind of a "glue" on our team: by being inclusive and participative, he adds lightness to interactions but is firm when necessary, and is always respectful and communicates in a friendly tone while addressing key points and concerns. In short, Luiz is a pleasure to work with and I recommend him strongly to any company.
