  I'm a lawyer since I graduated from Law School working mainly in Consumer Law, Obligations and Liability Law, Comercial Law and Sucessions Law. I have prepared several law suits and representaed consumers and their associations in Court namely several injunctions against Portuguese Banks, Airline Companies and others on unfair contract terms, group actions against Portugal Telecom, Volkswagen, Apple, Facebook, elaboration of Legal Opinions for DECO, BEUC, Portuguese Government, Companies and leading negotiations. Also as a lawyer I coordinated the team of lawyers and academics in charge of the preparation of DECO’s comments on the Consumer Code Bill in 2006; I Represent the Portuguese Consumers at the ECCG - European Consumers Consultative Group and DECO at the EnforcementSteering Group within BEUC.

  CIMPAS is one of the best examples of the importance and effectiveness of alternative dispute resolution systems and it is a pleasure and an honor to be part of the arbitration panel of this Arbitration Center specifically dedicated to insurances. I participated in its creation, representing DECO member, I was part of the body of conciliators that existed at the outset and, almost ten years ago, I am an arbitration judge seeking for Justice to be closer to citizens and companies and more accessible to all.

  I was part of DECO´s Board for three terms (each term lasts for three years) during which, among other tasks, I was responsible for the international representation of the Association. These were very challenging and motivating years due to the transformation of the organization and the need to respond to more demanding consumers and a society in great change.
