Luis (Salva) was my Teaching Assistant at the University of Toronto, Department of Management, MGTA36 Management Communication for Co-op, Winter 2023. During my relationship with Salva, I have experienced an individual who has gone ABOVE AND BEYOND the scope of his employment, to render exceptional service to – (1) his students, (1) myself, and (3) the University of Toronto, Department of Management. To summarize my thoughts in one simple sentence – I WOULD HIRE SALVA AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT. Salva is an EXCELLENT teacher and effective communicator, possessing not only comprehensive knowledge of the subject area, but also providing clear and useful coaching – via both (a) leading by example, as well as (2) providing concrete examples and explanations to his students. Salva possesses EXCELLENT organizational skills; he is both (1) proactive in anticipating (student/my) needs, as well as (2) aptly reactive with all assigned deliverables, always ahead of schedule. Salva has created an EXCELLENT relationship with not only me, but critically – his students. He has provided his students with effective coaching and feedback, encouraged class participation, and created a culture and environment where students feel comfortable being themselves, stepping out of their comfort zone, and asking difficult questions – to truly PROGRESS in their career, and in life. In addition to the above, Salva is (1) hard-working and tenacious (achieving high academic success, and improving the overall University experience for others), passionate about a successful career in business (passionately leading and strengthening his community), and carries himself in a professional manner (possessing strong positive personal qualities). I have no doubt that this is how Salva approaches ALL of his work.
