Luella is an exceptional and inspirational leader in the world of Nonprofit Organizations. I worked under the direct supervision of Luella for 6 years at the Western Union Foundation. I can personally attest to her gifts as both a manager and a foundation president. When I entered this job, Luella provided me with the guidance I needed to make sure all my projects were completed by training me in the corporate foundation system. At the same time, though, I was given the freedom and flexibility to look for creative solutions. I am incredibly grateful to Luella for her understanding of the corporate philanthropy on a fundamental level. She is able to assign, delegate, and tackle any issues because of her copious experience in the industry. I have always felt encouraged, supported, and stimulated in the work environment Luella has created.

Luella is a strategic results driven leader, with a global mindset. Her diplomatic approach to consensus building, problem solving, and team management are best practice. As a manager, Luella is a motivator and partner. She positions her team and function for success. Luella is creative, an excellent mentor, and is well regarded by peers, business leaders and key stakeholders. I have enjoyed working for Luella – and would do so again. I look forward to partnering with her gain on future opportunities.

Luella is one of a kind. Chances are, you'll hear about her work long before you meet her, since she is extremely well-connected -- and with good reason. At first, you might be struck by her grace or style. In speaking with her, you'll probably soon note her passion for her work, family and making a difference in the world. If you're fortunate enough to work with her (as I was), you'll also discover her remarkable organizational acumen, speaking skills, ability to read people, and uncanny ability to navigate through complexity and overcome constraints to deliver far more than anyone would think possible. I continue to learn a tremendous amount from Luella, and my respect for her has only grown deeper with time.
