I first met Lucy in early 2020 at a Strategy Meeting where our companies were merging. Lucy directed the meeting and was well engaged with what was going on and the plans for the future. It was clear that Lucy lead on a number of projects for the company, including social media management, marketing strategy, brand awareness and promotion, and web management. It was important us to work closely together as IT and Marketing Managers respectively. Lucy is always upbeat, positive and professional. I know that Lucy is now working as a freelance marketer and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a marketing professional who is friendly and knowledgeable.

I have had the privilege of working with Lucy over the past 14 years. Lucy had been working for a company who was supplying my company’s new website and she impressed me with her grasp of the project and her desire to see it to conclusions. A number of years later I was able to engage Lucy as a freelance marketing consultant for my company, and in more recent times as an employed Marketing co-ordinator up until the time of my departure form that company in late 2019. Lucy is professional, dedicated and methodical, she brings her own perspective to every project and is always receptive to new ideas. Whilst my own career has headed in a new direction should the opportunity arise to engage Lucy in the future I would not hesitate and can heartily recommend her.

Marketing Manager for a network of law firms across the UK. Incorporating different names and brands, working to ensure consistency throughout all marketing and communications. This role included social media strategy and management, advertising and sponsorship, event management, website management and maintenance, design and print. Coles Solicitors is a brand steeped in history in the North of England. A high-street business looking after local people. Following a takeover in August 2019, Coles Solicitors has merged with Kingly Solicitors who have law firms across the South of the UK. My role at Coles Solicitors/Kingly Solicitors was made redundant during the COVID-19 pandemic. Show less

A growing small company, my role as Business Development Manager was varied. Encompassing the responsibility for sales and new lead generation, I oversaw the targets and KPI's for our Training Advisor Team. This included project and campaign management, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Alongside my role as Business Development Manager, I was also responsible for the Marketing Department. This involved both internal and external communications, brand awareness, database management, PR, social media and events/exhibitions. I was responsible for managing print and creative design requirements, liaising with external agencies to ensure our corporate identity is adhered to.I was responsible for reporting business data to the CEO and Founder Director, as well as presenting reports to the Board of Directors for monthly meetings. In this role I was responsible for the day to day operations of the business. This included managing a team of 3 people, whilst overseeing other departments. The nature of the business meant that we had a huge network of Supply Teachers across the country and it was important that we maintain quality relationships with both teachers and customer schools.Whilst being responsible for the Training Advisor Team, the main focus is on account management and sales. With challenging monthly targets, this team is responsible for generating sales and renewing and maintaining existing relationships. I spent a lot of time throughout my time with Sound Training creating and implementing new processes and procedures. Show less

Sound Training is a unique mainstream literacy programme, designed to boost reading ability, vocabulary and confidence of pupils in Key Stage 2, 3 and 4. The programme targets pupils from average ability, rather than low ability SEN pupils. This role involved working with a number of schools across the country to assess and increase their literacy skills. I was responsible for advising schools on the best package from Sound Training, taking in to account budget, capacity and relationship. As this role developed I led in developing the Customer Journey which is the process by which all of our customers go through. This was critical in ensuring the needs of our customers are met in both a timely and professional manner. As the business grew I was given the opportunity to apply for the position of Operations Manager. Show less

After being made redundant whilst on maternity leave from 19 Marketing, I decided to use my skills and expertise in the field of Marketing to set up my own business; Cloud 83 Marketing. Working with a number of small local companies, I offered in house marketing services as well as creative design and print. This enabled companies to outsource the marketing element of their company, making vast cost reductions. With some clients I was embedded in to their organisation as their Marketing Department, working 1-2 days per week from their office. Again, this enabled them to have a more structured approach to their marketing activities, whilst not having the burden of a full time Marketing Manager. Due to personal circumstances I dissolved the business. Show less

My role within Splash Print Management was commission based and I was responsible for generating business from customers who I had previous dealings with. As part of this position I was a member of the BNI Westpark Chapter where I was active in generating referrals for members of that Chapter. It was a great privilege to be involved in this for a short time and I was proactive in maintaining relationships. Please note that this company is no longer in operation. I worked with the team at 19 Marketing for little over a year providing marketing support, design and print to clients in and around the North East. I was responsible for working with clients to ensure they were getting the most out of their marketing budgets, whether that was helping them to write an effective marketing plan and strategy to target certain sectors, or implementing a communications strategy to ensure all budgets were used efficiently. Unfortunately the company went into liquidation in May 2012 and as a result I was made redundant whilst on maternity leave. Show less

I worked at Sedgefield Borough Council during my placement year at the University of Teesside. Securing a placement was extremely challenging and many of my peers were unable to find suitable experience. My time at Sedgefield Borough Business Service, part of the Council, gave me great insight into the business environment and I was able to build relationships with some fantastic companies. Following my successful placement year, my contract was extended for a further 3 months, before returning to University in the September. Show less
