At BSK I was responsible for teaching students from Early years to KS5 practical lessons for a variety of sports including gymnastics, netball, basketball, dance and swimming. I have also gained further experience teaching and planning for theory GCSE, which is a strong interest and strength of mine. Alongside this, I have organised and run staff CPD sessions throughout my time at the school and have also been heavily involved in organising and running various trips abroad including; Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award to Cyprus, BSME U15 sports trip to Bahrain, BSME Swimming trip to Dubai and BSME U11 trip to Abu Dhabi. I also worked with the department to run the extra-curricular programme delivering a variety of sports, including netball, basketball, volleyball and also swimming where I believe I made a huge difference in the number of swimmers we had competing at a high level, both in Kuwait and in international competition. In addition to this, I developed my own extra-curricular programme this year regarding healthy active lifestyles where students took place in a programme that explored their BMI, diet, levels of physical activity and their education within these areas. This directly linked to the research projects I completed during my masters where I researched the effects of physical activity and diet interventions on overweight or obese children.
