Campaign Marketing Manager

Apr 2008 - Dec 2010
Responsible for setting up a new Social Marketing arm across the Trust's national and extensive communication channels, designed to inspire behaviour change in supporters through participative events, digital media, print and PR campaigns. Utilising both internal consultation and external research I led the conception and delivery of three national 2-year campaigns, with individual sub-brands. These were rolled out through three new websites, an events programme at 200 National Trust properties and a variety of innovative marketing mechanisms, each triggering active engagement of 1/2 million members and visitors in areas of Cultural Heritage, 'green' Food behaviours and Wildlife conservation. - Project management of three simultaneous national campaigns tailored to specific audience segments, print and production planning and allocation of >£1m budget - Recruitment & line management of dedicated project team - Internal communications planning within a large complex organisation - Reporting and presenting project results at Director level - Management of agency tenders and supplier relationships - Creative development, copy-writing/proofing and overall responsibility for Design sign-off. - Development of the Trust's strategic relationship planning with children and families. These were new spearhead campaigns that I am proud to say have now been adopted as a permanent feature of the National Trust's communications strategy. Show less

Primary activities included the organisation of a high profile televised debate, a national press and media campaign, brand development, focus group testing, print production, event management of a press launch, public launch and an official opening with HRH Princess Anne. The exhibition was nominated for the prestigious Art Fund Prize 2008. Prior to this project I acted as both Commercial Development and Marketing Officer with responsibility for re-organising and marketing the Museum's commercial events business, during which I implemented changes that doubled turnover within a 12 month period. Event Manager & Sales Developer

May 2000 - May 2003
Event management of several hundred blue-chip and high profile events including Royal visits, product launches, B2B exhibitions, awards dinners, conferences and weddings. Representing a first class corporate events venue, I was responsible for selling and delivering a high quality customer service from the initial planning stages through to detailed execution and post-event evalutation. I was responsible for duty management of corporate events staff, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, site operations liason and the co-ordination and negotiation of multiple suppliers. I subsequently moved into a developmental role involving line-management of sales staff, identifiying opportunities to maximise venue sales & profitability. An example of such was the development of the venue's first Christmas Party Packages (resulting in a significant increase in revenue) and implementing a tender process for the catering element of this product.
