    • Assistant Team Leader/ ESL Teacher
      • Sep 2016 - Jun 2020

During my time at New City Kids, I've immersed myself in various aspects and roles within the organization. Primarily holding the Assistant Team Leader position I served as a mentor for newly ESL ( English Second Language) teen hires by providing them with teaching strategies to successfully and effectively teach the material to the students. In addition to being a Team Leader, I was actively involved in the organization where I donated countless hours of community service and participated in Spring production. As an ESL teacher for both middle and High schooler's, my roles and task involved the following: 1. Creating and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum which addressed individual learning styles. 2. Executed lesson plans in order to teach students ( 1st-4th grade) the basic fundamentals of English. 3. Fostered a positive, student-centered classroom environment by encouraging opinion sharing. 4. Taught students fundamental building blocks and advanced concepts. 5. Motivated students to be more engaged in classes through applying positive reinforcement techniques. 6. Created assignments and tests to evaluate student knowledge. 7. Worked with students individually to address areas of concern, including test grades and missed coursework. Show less
