The AVENIR project is funded by the European Union under the EU Aid Volunteers initiative and coordinated by France Volontaires. It aims at increasing the population’s resilience in the face of climate change by diversifying their economic resources and by raising environmental awareness. It aims at increasing the population’s resilience in the face of climate change by diversifying their economic resources and by raising environmental awareness. With the NGO STADD I work with 5 schools on “Waste, compost and sanitation” aspects. Within this framework, I analysed the needs and waste flows to implement composting areas and sorting bins, later monitored on a weekly basis. We developed nurseries with the students and installed shared gardens. In addition I give courses about the environment, sustainable development, and waste awareness to 120 students through hands-on activities or theatrical improvisation workshops. To strengthen my classes I am working on a “Little composter’s guide” which talks about environmental concepts as well as composting.
