Luciano is one of those rare colleagues that is both work and play, and he does it with so much ease. I have learned a lot from him in the six months that we worked together. His way of approaching problems, leaving no stone unturned and no question unasked, combined with his mentorship skills make him a valuable person to be around with.

Luciano is the definition of a "Unicorn" engineer. A software engineer of the quality of Luciano is very rare to find. He has strong technologies fundamentals knowledge which makes him really strong to figure out solutions even when he is working with a technology that he is not an expert on. Luciano is also very humble which makes his thirst for knowledge never end and also makes him an amazing team player. Luciano is very experienced with modern microservices architectures. He designs cloud architecture solutions and is able to solve complex security problems. Luciano is a very passionate software engineer and invests his time sharing what he knows. He has the NodeJS book, he gives talks around the world, he also created very interesting personal projects. Luciano also excels in his communication skills, he is able to structure complex topics in a simple way. He knows how to pass the message confidently and effectively, which is an extremely valuable skill to improve company technologies and processes.

I had the pleasure of working with Luciano at FabFitFun. We both worked on a team providing internal services for the other teams in the company. To put it quite simply, Luciano is an exceptional engineer. He concerns himself not just with writing the code, but also understanding the problem at hand, exploring solutions, thinking about future implications, and helping the team do the same. He is not afraid to voice his opinion or objections to approaches, but when he does, he has his own solutions to propose. Whenever I knew Luciano was going to be working on something, I was always filled with confidence that what we delivered would be a high standard. Perhaps more importantly, Luciano is a fantastic personality to have on the team. He is collaborative, helpful, resourceful and is always on hand to inject a little life into a drab meeting. It was an absolute pleasure working with Luciano and I can very confidentially recommend him for any future roles.

I have been working on improving the various cloud deployments of the company serving more than 2 million customers daily. The projects I contributed to ranged from developing new products with a microservices-first approach to optimizing existing products for cost efficiency and performance. In particular, I contributed heavily to re-architecting and rebuilding the subscription management platform creating a more modern and flexible system that can better serve the needs of the business going forward. During my time at FabFitFun, I also tried my best to bridge the gap between teams located in different countries and with a significantly different culture. One of my initiatives was to start an internal monthly meetup where Engineers could present any engineering topic of their interest. It could have been business-related ("How did we build feature X") or even just learnings coming from their own personal research that they wanted to share with the rest of the engineering team ("Using Phoenix and LiveView to build a full website in 30 minutes). The meetup has been quite successful and it always got more that 50% attendance rate among engineers. I built an internal website (using Eleventy) to keep track of the talks and generate the calendar so that engineers could be easily notified of the next events. All talks were recorded and made available internally for people to watch later. Used technology: AWS, Kubernetes (self-managed and EKS), ArgoCD, Helm, Kustomize, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker, Python, FastAPI, JavaScript, Node.js, React Show less

As a Cloud Architect, my role has been researching and developing new products, overseeing legacy products transition to the cloud, planning, reviewing and optimizing the overall cloud strategy. In this role, I was one of the technical leaders behind Cognito Recall, a sophisticated threat hunting and security investigation platform which was delivered in the Cloud (AWS) and started to monetize in 6 months from the project start date. The overall architecture of Cognito Recall has been presented in several important global conferences and meetups. Technologies used on a daily basis: AWS, Azure, Serverless, Terraform, Ansible, Packer, ElasticSearch, Node.js, GoLang, Python. Show less

Oryzone was an open group of freelancer IT professionals, born to create a proactive and collaborative environment, to achieve greater technical results and attract more customers. I was one of the co-founders of Oryzone and I worked mostly as web developer. I developed a full stacked MVC custom web framework called TSFramework, widely used for many of the sites the group developed. My work consisted in searching for the best ideas behind other famous web framework (Symfony, Kohana, CakePhp, Yii) and adopting them within the new framework. Show less
