I worked with Protiviti through a contract with Robert Half and provided services as a Consultant. I was originally recruited as a Senior Consultant and then earned a promotion as a Manager within the Robert Half Salaried Professional Services Group. I maintained a long-term relationship with Protiviti of almost 9 years. Some key results in this role include: ⇨ I ensured SOX 404 compliance for SOX testing. I conducted walkthroughs with appropriate personnel in order to update and review control documentation including narratives, process flows, and risk control matrices. ⇨ Through review and performance of audit testing and supporting documentation, I validated design effectiveness of the internal control environment for different business processes. ⇨ I oversaw remediation of control deficiencies and worked directly with client management to ensure appropriate execution strategies. ⇨ Consulting with a publicly traded pharmaceutical company with over $306M in annual revenue, I ensured compliance with corporate governance and risk management requirements specific to SOX 404. ⇨ Consulting with a publicly traded consumer products company with over $900M in annual revenue, I provided financial statement reporting assistance to client’s accounting personnel which included: review of quarterly/annual SEC reports to ensure consistency with prior periods, review of supporting financial schedules to ensure consistency with prior periods and confirm agreement to data filed within the quarterly/annual SEC reports and identification of necessary adjustments needed to the quarterly/annual SEC reports once changes/updates were processed by upper management ⇨ I successfully converted a client’s accounting methodologies from cash to accrual on an annual basis and developed processes for financial statement development and CPA audit preparation. In this role, I was brought on board as a Staff Accountant and earned a rapid promotion to Senior Accountant and led audits for private clients. I also analyzed and interpreted financial statements and identified possible misstatements. Leveraging strong leadership skills, I oversaw staff development of core skills. I fostered this through training, delegating tasks, reviewed assignments, and drafted written evaluations after each engagement. ⇨ I successfully recognized trends and unusual fluctuations, through analysis of YoY financial data, key ratios, and industry benchmarks. ⇨ I also audited employee benefits plans and ensured compliance with the Employee Retirement Securities Act of 1974 and the U.S. Department of Labor.
