As a member of the Lustrum Committee, I am actively involved in planning and organizing the 6th Lustrum of Study Association POLIS, in honour of its 30th birthday. The Lustrum consists of two weeks filled with both formal and informal activities.In my role as secretary I'm in charge of all administrative tasks and supporting the chairman. I keep the minutes, set up to-do lists and make sure all tasks are finished in a timely manner.

As a member of the Study Related Taskforce I was concerned with the development of several supporting informational documents for students within this association.I was particularly involved in developing a document outlining all possibilities for our students after passing their first year of our Bachelor program, like minor courses, master programs, and exchange possibilities. As chairman of the SportsCommittee I organized three different sport-related events, aimed to increase the social cohesion within the association. One of the events is also focused on including the staff of the department of Organisation Studies within the association, to further develop the connection between students and staff in a more informal manner.Being a chairman means I have the responsibility to set and lead meetings, set the agenda, and keep the overall planning in check. Furthermore, I have to make sure that all tasks are divided (equally) and finished on time, and that during activities and events everything runs smoothly. As Platform Project Leader (Brand Ambassador) for Uni-Life in Tilburg, I have been responsible for rolling out this new and inventive platform at Tilburg University. In my role, I was in contact with the management of Tilburg University, the Marketing & Communications department of Tilburg University and with all associations. Amongst others, I hosted workshops, uploaded events and worked on collaborations with associations and a succesful marketing campaign with Tilburg University. Additionally, as the company was still in its start-up phase, I had the privilege of gaining a unique insight in how such organizations develop, grow, and professionalise over time. They represent the interests of active students and are committed to issues like internationalisation, digitalisation and the living campus. During the academic year of 2019/2020 I was 'lijstduwer' (included on the voting ballot, but in an unelectable position) - in a bid to attract more votes. As an active member in the political pool, I strive to give input, feedback and information, to make sure the interests of students at Tilburg University are well-represented and that the students are heard in the University Council. StudentsPlus is a tutor agency that offers individual guidance and tutoring services at home. Help can be requested for any level and course. With this wide variety, we reach out to as many students as possible, and try to cover all requests. The service is customer-oriented, and focused on the wants and needs of every individual. The tutoring sessions offered are very flexible, and since the tutors are students, they know how life at school works and how to respond to challanges that come with that. Next to that, being a tutor is also beneficial to keep developing your own knowledge and (didactic) skills and to make sure that these are up-to-date. As location manager of Tilburg, I am responsible for the development for the company's activity in Tilburg. Using various ways, I make sure people are aware and informed of the possibilities at StudentsPlus.I am concerned with and actively engaged in recruitment, selection, and hiring of new tutors. One of my primary activities consists of interviewing starting tutors. I assess the functioning of the prospective students, and provide them with information regarding their work activities at StudentsPlus.Furthermore, I initiate and maintain contact with high schools (middelbare scholen) and institutions for higher education (hoger onderwijs, HBO / WO) in Tilburg and surroundings.Lastly, I help distributing promotional material for prospective tutors and students who need extra lessons. Being a student is not only about studying. This is the idea behind foundation WAT (Word Actief Tilburg | We Activate Tilburg). We focus on, and like to, inform other students about the possibilities of being an active student in Tilburg. Tilburg as a student city has a lot to offer for enthousiastic, motivated, ambitious and engaged students. There's a wide variety of options to become active and to get to know other students. There are study, student, sporting, cultural, societal, career, political, religious, and international associations, or you could fulfill a function in one of the several student councils. The options are aplenty! We believe that being an active student helps in developing and/or improving personal and professional skills. For example planning, organizing, taking responsabilities, negogiating, building confidence, the list is endless! As a chairman of this foundation, I am responsible for setting and leading meetings, setting the agenda, and keeping the overall planning in check. Furthermore, I have to make sure that all tasks are divided (equally) and finished on time, and that during activities and events everything runs smoothly. I also deem it important to create a positive and warm environment, where all members feel free and speak up, in order to encourage creativity and productivity. In this role, I was a member of the 'Werkgrop Zichtbaarheid Verenigingen' (workgroup 'Visibility of Associations'), where we discussed the visibility of associations during the COVID-19 pandemic with all relevant stakeholders, such as the management of Tilburg University, the municipality of Tilburg and boards of associations.
