My research is focused on developing deep learning methods for microscopy. I am interested in adapting existing deep learning technologies for applications in bio-imaging with a special focus on creating simple workflows and quality control.I am also interested in finding out what A.I. can tell us about cellular behaviours like division and migration and how we can use it to improve how we image these processes.

I spent two months in the Vale Lab at UCSF investigating the powerstroke of the human dynein. I helped develop an optical trap and harmonic force spectroscopy to measure the forces exerted by the motor along the microtubule. The work also involved synthesizing constructs of multiple dynein molecules using DNA Origami to simulate the native environment of the dynein molecule in sperm cells and to image the dynein molecules and constructs in vitro on microtubules.
