Area Manager
-
Jul 2011 - Nov 2012
Work as an Area Manager in Vendor Returns, Customer Returns, and the Trade-In program. The Area Manager role is responsible for ensuring the company is able to process the amount of items forecasted by Amazon’s Financial team. To ensure this is done, Area Managers must fully engage associates, remove any barriers hindering their ability to process the items in a timely fashion. Area Managers are also responsible for the safety and well-being of the associates while at work. Area Managers are also prepared to report all progress, including unit metrics, throughput, and backlog. While working in the Customer Returns area, I was responsible for leading over 120+ associates on the nightly basis to process customer orders to ensure the customer receives their refund. As the Area Manager, I had four Process Assistants who help carry out all of my tasks, including but not limited to: truck unload, box decant, engagement of processors, ensuring all products went to the correct path, solving any problems. As the Trade-In Manager, I was responsible for ensuring books that customers sold to Amazon were in quality shape to be resold on the website or sold to another merchant. This included doing quality checks on processors, ensuring they understood the most recent change to the process, and eliminating obstacles along the way. As the night Area Manager, I oversaw the downsizing of the department as the process moved to a different location. In the Vendor Returns Area, the Area Manager is responsible for ensuring all items that have been returned by the customer and processed through Customer Returns is stowed in the correct bins within the building. Pickers will go and take these items down when a vendor is ready to receive them. The Vendor Returns area will pack up a large order of the vendor items and ensures it is shipped to them by a specific date. Show less
