  As the Staff Development Specialist at JDL, I work to provide training, communication, and care to our staff. In essence, this means working to improve the lives of our staff members, and ensure that JDL is a desirable place to work.This includes but is not limited to:- creating in-person learning/training experiences on a variety of topics- creating asychronous digital trainings from the ground up to be delivered via an online Learning Management System. This includes scripting, recording video & audio, creating interactive activities, formatting materials, testing for knowledge, revising as needed, and digitizing existing training materials.- arranging training and conference attendance for staff members- bringing in outside trainers and speakers to provide professional development opportunities to our staff- coordinating on-boarding for new staff members- overseeing and tracking ongoing training system-wide- checking in with staff members regularly to ensure their needs are being met- fielding feedback, suggestions, and concerns from ~140 staff members- coordinating an annual all-staff development day- working to improve the lives of staff members daily- discovering, establishing, and implementing organizational values- facilitating staff recognition and appreciation- implementing uniform customer service guidelines Show less
