While at ExaGrid my roles have ranged from individual contributor through project lead to engineering director. I am also a member of the architecture team, responsible for designing the high level software architecture and reviewing component designs. The software is multi-threaded, in multiple processes, on multiple servers, requiring a comprehensive understanding of concurrency, communications and system resource management. I have and continue to learn a great deal about software development in this environment, from the low-level technical details of OO programming through project and program management, product roadmap development and on to customer escalation handling.
